About
Coming from a background in Art and Fashion History, we have always fawned over our vintage finds and daily wears. We soon noticed the growing trend of people shopping vintage, especially in New York City, making it increasingly mainstream. We realized that many take pride in knowing about their clothes—the joy of saying, "It's from the 1960s," akin to the delight of proclaiming, "It was on sale!" or "It has pockets!"

Stepping back, we saw a gap: there wasn't an accessible space for those outside academia to learn about fashion history or learning about the significance of wearing their vintage slip dress or 1970's jeans. While we adore institutions like The Metropolitan Museum of Art's Costume Institute and The Museum at FIT, we wondered where people could go outside the museum space, beyond the computer or phone screen and special exhibitions. Where could they look at garments, buy them, and learn about them? Where can we all gather for talks on Victorian boots or to sketch a live model dressed in a 1960's bathing suit?

Although we know these things from personal research and university classes, most people don't have access or time to delve into these details. So, what if we made it a shoppable and accessible process? What if there was a space for fashion lovers to share their knowledge, to shop and sip? To have a community space readily available?

Thus, Tulle House was born.

We are actively working on expanding our business to create this space; we want to expand beyond the confines of being resellers, because it is so much more than that! If you are interested or have any comments or questions feel free to drop us an email and follow us on ig. In the meantime - happy shopping!
